A study in restraint and continuity. At its heart sits the original stone cottage, its double thick walls kept fully intact and now doing quiet duty as the kitchen — a rugged, textured anchor around which the new build unfolds. Corrugated gable roofs, timber-clad ceilings, and stacked stone pillars carry that same materiality outward, while deep verandas and cantilevered decks push the living spaces out into the landscape. The setting does a lot of the work here: the house sits at the foot of a small valley, looking out over farmland toward the ocean, with an old coral tree anchoring the view from almost every angle on the property.

Inside, the renovation leans into contrast rather than smoothing it over — reclaimed timber window frames, refurbished from the original structure, sit alongside green zellige-style tiles, veined stone splashbacks, and softly arched doorways in olive and forest tones. Nothing here feels forced into matching; old stone meets new plaster, dark steel-framed glazing meets warm pine rafters, and each room is left to hold its own character.
